Cultural preservation is crucial because, as trends arise, people often go with them and often forget where they came from. One must remember the rich heritage and culture they came from. The Artistry Uplift is a project that fosters cultural education through creative and artistic expression.
Through the MA 103 headed by Mr. Lorenzo Dominic Salazar, MBA, CPA, the BS Management students namely Rhea Anayasan, Glithe Asbucan, Heart Barnachea, Marvin Binay-an, Zyerine Calingayan, Zyra Gamutlong, Ian Labutan, Nicole Na-oy, Aenid Valencia, Ma. Luisa Valencia and Hannah Wakat come up with the ARTISTRY UPLIFT that features the SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities to preserve and strengthen the culture of the province of Benguet though art and education.
The project is in partnership with Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines Inc., Montanyosa Knight, Eagle Pacific Club Northern Luzon, and Pasa-Kalye Group of Artists. At Lolong Elementary School, various activities are conducted, such as the creation of a wall mural by the Pasa-Kalye Group of Artists, the storytelling of Benguet folk stories, an artistic workshop for women’s month, and traditional games.
Culture is a thread that links us throughout time and place. So, let us keep the connection alive!
