Financial knowledge plays a crucial role in one’s life. Having this knowledge would allow you to make sound financial decisions that can help to achieve a brighter future.
The project was spearheaded by Rhyndylyn Almazan, together with Alyssa Kristine Armilla, Clairine Mae Baguitan, Beverly Bantag, Kiery Milhayacinth Buyuccan, Hazel Dawn Carbonel, Clarise Dalos, Catherine Fontawa, Reiane Christyn Masigla and Frency Jane Ramiro came up with the project DONATION DRIVE: SAVE FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE, with the help of their adviser Mr. Lorenzo Dominic Salazar, MBA, CPA.
It was sponsored by Mayor’s Office (Mayor Romeo K. Salda), Office of Congressman Eric Go Yap (Congressman Eric G. Yap), M&A Angels (Angelita P. Agyapas-Lagdamen), and SoftSpin Laundry Services (Noriko Joy K. Berang).
The event offers activities designed for different age groups: lessons on saving money for older students (Grades 4-6), engaging storytelling sessions for middle graders (Grades 2-3), and fun coloring activities for the youngest learners (Kindergarten-Grade 1). This project aligns with the UN’s goals for both quality education (SDG 4) and sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11).
This project equips students at Talinguroy Elementary School with essential supplies to kick off the new school year. But it goes beyond just providing materials. The team provides enjoyable coloring activities and interactive talks to teach essential savings strategies and expand the students’ financial understanding. The advantages went beyond just Talinguroy because the team members themselves honed their social skills through negotiation, public speaking, and teamwork, making it a valuable learning experience for all.
