
The College of Accountancy (COA) recently concluded two exciting back-to-back events — the Techno Demo Day held on July 30, 2025, and the Make-a-thon Competition on July 31, 2025. These events showcased the creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaborative spirit of COA students, with several teams presenting innovative tech solutions to real-world challenges.
Techno Demo Day 10
COA bags 9 out of the top 15 spots for the Techno Demo Day 10. These teams include Smart Odor Free Compost Bin, RentResQ, ZeroWaste – VegTech, ReCent, Ai.Listo, Bag N Guard, BUOIA, ReFabrik, and TaxAid.
Among these, Team ReCent with their reverse vending maching for bottles and cans emerged as the 1st Place Winner. The team, composed of Cristopher Della, Sharon Faith, Zharina, Kerry, Jeizel Joy, and Aceisha from Section 2E, was advised by Ms. Maybel Lee C. Kua. Della also received the Best Pitch Award.
Ai.Listo ,an AI-powered driver monitoring and safety system designed to reduce road accidents caused by drowsiness and fatigue, earned the 2nd Runner-Up spot. This project is developed by Jestonie Calimbas, Jemimah Lyran Chaguna, Mariane De Vera, Niña Lyka Jose, Mikaela Angel Keat, Arfiele Zhairome Ramiscal, and Rham Tocnoy, and supported by Adviser Mr. Carlos O. Vicuña.
🌐 Intercollege Make-a-thon Highlights:
COA students also joined the intercollege Make-a-thon, with notable entries including:
- KinetiKo – Chris Jericho Ordanza and team – 1st place
- Binnovate – Dax Cruz and Heidry Fontanilla (2G) and team – 1st Runner-Up
- Wastify – Lindsay Mae Doctor (2E) and team – 2nd Runner-Up
Each team was composed of a subject-matter expert, technical expert, business expert, with the College of Accountancy representatives belonging to the last group.
