The University of the Cordilleras Chairman Ray Dean Salvosa announced the creation of the Nicole Agoy Gonzales Scholarship during the testimonial dinner for the September 2023 and May 2024 Licensure for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA) passers at Hotel Supreme on July 12, 2024.
According to Salvosa, “I am proud to announce again today that the board of trustees has elected to create a scholarship program for the next 4 years in honor of our examinees this year. The scholarship award for an indigent but deserving student in accounting will be called the Nicole Agoy Gonzales Scholarship.”
Gonzales placed first in the May 2024 LECPA. She was also said to have a hand in the selection of the deserving student.
“Our goal is to honor you by making sure that one indigent student who could not otherwise afford to study accounting at the University of the Cordilleras will get that chance, and this is happening because of what you did by bringing honor to the university,” Salvosa added.
This scholarship, which was created by the board of trustees solely for accounting students in honor of the College of Accountancy and LECPA topnotchers and passers, succeeds the Alexander Bandiola Scholarship Award, which was announced last year when Bandiola emerged first in the May 2023 LECPA.
